About us
The Outis story begins in 1993. Guido was an employee of a leading food and wine company in Italy, managing the delivery of their products to private customers. In 2001 he decided to start his own delivery service, this time online. Within a few years his company was sending prestigious Italian wines to all five continents, but mostly to customers in the UK. So, in 2010, six years after finally tying the knot, Guido and his lifelong friend Francesca founded Outis.
The inspiration behind the company is simple: to search Sicily and southern Italy for fantastic new wines produced with passion by independent estates, and to sell these fine wines exclusively to the UK market. Wines are stored in London, which means they are ready for immediate delivery.
Francesca is the English voice of the company and looks after customer service and public relations. She is also an expert in Sicilian history and culture and is currently at Bristol University where she is writing a thesis on the subject of P. M. Benza, a 19th century Sicilian doctor who served the East India Company.
